Delicious Milopitakia made with fillo pastry, apples, and nuts. The recipe involves soaking the raisins, preparing the apple filling, and rolling it in fillo dough for baking, resulting in a delightful treat.
Soak the raisins in warm water or liquor.
Peel the apples, remove the core, and cut into cubes.
Add lemon juice to the apples to prevent browning.
Melt 20 grams of butter in a pan and add the apples, brown sugar, and cook until apples are tender.
Turn off heat and let cool.
Coarsely chop the walnuts and mix with drained raisins and apples in the pan.
Melt the remaining butter in a smaller saucepan.
Take one sheet of fillo pastry at a time, brush with melted butter, cut in half for vertical rectangles.
Place a generous spoonful of the apple, raisin, and walnut filling at one end of the sheet.
Roll the fillo over the filling and seal the edges like a package.
Place the filled rolls on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
Brush the filled rolls with melted butter and bake in preheated fan oven at 180°C for 10 to 15 minutes until golden on top.
Remove from the oven and dust with cinnamon or powdered sugar when cool.
