1: In a bowl, beat the eggs and sugar using electric whisks until you achieve a frothy white mixture.

2: Add softened butter and sifted flour to the mixture, then finally incorporate the baking powder.

3: Blend the whole orange (removing seeds if desired) into a puree.

4: Mix the orange puree into the batter until well combined.

5: Pour the batter into a well-buttered cake pan, smooth the surface, and bake in a preheated oven at 170°C for about 35 minutes.

6: To make the glaze, cook sugar and orange juice in a pan for a few minutes until fully dissolved.

7: Add chopped candied orange peel to the glaze and mix well.

8: Brush the surface of the cake with the orange glaze.
